Cloud Nine is a cannabis clinic in Nana, Bangkok, one of the city’s most vibrant entertainment districts.

When cannabis was first legalized in Thailand, I stayed near Asok BTS and spent several days visiting newly opened cannabis clinics in Bangkok. While many shops were opening rapidly at the time, not all of them had the same level of atmosphere or product quality.

Among the places I visited, Cloud Nine stood out as one of the few cannabis clinics that genuinely committed to building an experience — not just a retail space.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere shifts entirely. Pure white walls, sky-blue accents, cloud sculptures floating from the ceiling, and sheer curtains that transform into projection mapping screens — every detail feels intentional, as if the name “Cloud Nine” is being taken seriously as a design brief.

Rather than feeling like a simple retail shop, the clinic gives the impression of a place where cannabis culture, spatial design, and brand storytelling intersect within Bangkok’s urban environment.

Cannabis Strains Available at Cloud Nine

Cloud Nine staff Nikki | Assisting customers with medical cannabis strain selection at Bangkok Nana dispensary

One of the staff members at Cloud Nine, Nikki, has extensive experience assisting Japanese-speaking customers and holds specialist knowledge in medical cannabis. For first-time visitors, Nikki takes the time to ask about the setting, the experience being sought, and the desired effects — before recommending a strain from their own cultivation lineup.

When asked for a recommendation for first-time medical cannabis users, Nikki’s answer was Otter Pops (Otter Popz).

Otter Pops (Otter Popz) cannabis strain | Hybrid strain available at Cloud Nine dispensary Bangkok Nana

Otter Pops is a hybrid strain created by crossing Animal Mints and Gelato 41. The dominant terpene is Myrcene, and the flavor profile combines cherry, berry, and tropical notes with a sharp citrus acidity and spicy menthol, finishing with a creamy, nutty warmth — exactly like a frozen dessert.

From the first inhale, a light euphoria spreads through the mind, accompanied by a natural urge to smile and laugh. The core experience alternates between happiness and creative clarity, with Myrcene providing a sweet candy aroma as its base while gently releasing muscle tension and guiding the elevated mood into a smooth, calm body relaxation.

The addition of Limonene’s bright citrus lift and Caryophyllene’s peppery warmth creates a wide range of sensations depending on dosage. What sets this strain apart from other dessert-style varieties is that it produces very little couch-lock, allowing the user to remain active and engaged. Behind the sweet top notes, quiet diesel and vanilla warmth linger — a strain with genuine depth.

Expected Effects
  • Euphoria with a natural urge to laugh: The interaction of Myrcene and Limonene makes the mood feel light and effortless, encouraging smiling and social ease
  • Creative clarity: Mental focus remains clear even within the euphoria, making it ideal for ideas, conversation, and creative activity
  • Gentle body relaxation: Muscle tension eases gradually without couch-lock, allowing the body to unwind while staying mobile
  • Versatile across settings: Lower doses suit creative and social situations; larger sessions work well for evening relaxation

ThaiCannaMed Prescriptions and the OG Network Medical Card

PT33 refers to the medical prescription required for the use of medical cannabis in Thailand. It is issued by a Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) doctor or a licensed physician and serves as proof for the legal purchase and possession of cannabis products. Once the prescription is issued, a QR code medical card is provided, which can be presented at the time of purchase or during police checks as proof of compliance.

When purchasing cannabis in Thailand, a medical prescription known as PT33 is required.

Across OG Canna / OG Distribution affiliated locations, this prescription process is standardized through the ThaiCannaMed system, allowing customers to obtain it either in-store or via telemedicine. This ensures a smooth and consistent experience regardless of which location you visit.

At participating locations including Cloud Nine, a QR code medical card is issued through ThaiCannaMed and used as proof of prescription at the time of purchase. In most cases, the process can be completed by simply presenting your passport and filling out a short health questionnaire. Once approved, the QR code medical card is issued.

This card can be used across the entire OG network, meaning there is no need to repeat the process at different stores. In the event of a police check, presenting the QR medical card and prescription confirms that your purchase is compliant with local regulations.

For travelers, it is also possible to obtain the prescription in advance via ThaiCannaMed.com before arriving in Thailand.

Cloud Nine Checkpoints

Cloud Nine is located on Sukhumvit Road in the Nana area, one of Bangkok’s most internationally recognized entertainment districts.

Hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues are concentrated in this area, attracting travelers, tourists, and local residents throughout the day and night.

Because of this location, the clinic naturally draws a mix of first-time visitors, cannabis enthusiasts, and tourists, creating an environment that reflects the global nature of cannabis culture.

Cloud Nine takes the concept of being on cloud nine seriously — not as a tagline, but as a design philosophy built into every surface of the space.

Despite being located in the middle of one of Bangkok’s busiest entertainment districts, stepping through the door feels like entering a different atmosphere entirely. Pure white walls, sky-blue accents, cloud sculptures overhead, and sheer curtains serving as projection mapping screens — the space delivers on its name.

The arch-shaped blue sofas in the lounge create individual semi-private zones, making it a comfortable space to relax after purchasing. With cloud sculptures overhead and sky-blue LED lighting wrapping the entire room, the “Cloud Nine” concept remains consistent from the entrance to every corner of the space.

Smoking inside Cloud Nine is not permitted, but this is one of the few dispensaries in Bangkok that functions as a destination in its own right — not just a place to buy and leave.

During the visit, staff member Nikki walked us through the product lineup. When asked for a recommendation for regular cannabis users, the answer was immediate: Kiefez infused pre-rolls.

The 1g Dragon Fruit Punch / Uplift pre-roll combines golden kief with a slow-burn hemp blunt wrap. The packaging — featuring bold dragon illustration artwork — works equally well as a souvenir. Alongside the Strainz jar series (Mango Haze, Deep End Butter, and others), the consistency of Kiefez’s visual identity and brand world-building sets it apart from anything else available in Bangkok dispensaries.

For those seeking a stronger experience, Nikki recommended the newer Kiefez infused blunt lineup: “Bronco Blaze” (Uplift) and “Goat Gas” (Relax). Each contains 1g of premium flower plus 0.5g of premium kief — 1.5g total — fitted with a 10mm glass tip. The cigar-format slow-burn design prioritizes smooth draw and even combustion throughout.

Beyond pre-rolls, the Kiefez Strainz flower lineup is equally well-stocked. Strains including Pluto x E85, Gelato 41 x Hardcore OG, and Do Si Dos are available in jars, each clearly labeled with effect direction (Relax) and Sativa/Indica ratios. Packaging comes in both holographic zip bags and jars, both carrying the GACP certification logo. The visual impact and quality assurance communicate themselves at a glance.

What Is GACP Certification? International Standards for Safe Cannabis Cultivation in Thailand

1 / 1

One of the aspects that stands out at Cloud Nine is its focus on transparency and medical cannabis quality control.

The cannabis sold at the clinic is cultivated at OG Farms, their own GACP-certified farm in Chiang Mai. Because cultivation and sales are managed end-to-end within the same organization, the clinic is able to display COA (Certificate of Analysis) data directly on the shop floor.

The Otter Pops COA, for example, shows THCA 23.27% and THCV 5.82%, independently verified by third-party laboratory Mahakan Biotech Ltd. Being able to confirm exactly what is in a product before purchasing is a standard that few dispensaries in Bangkok currently meet.

One thing worth knowing before visiting is that Thailand currently requires a medical prescription (PT33) to purchase cannabis. At Cloud Nine, a TTM (Thai Traditional Medicine) doctor certified by Wonderland Clinic is on-site, and the entire process — from consultation to receiving a prescription — can be completed in-store simply by bringing your passport and informing the staff.

No prior medical records are needed. A short intake form covering basic health information is all that is required. The flow is designed so that first-time visitors can navigate it without confusion.

Cloud Nine also carries a full range of original apparel and merchandise. Well-designed cannabis goods are rarer than expected in Bangkok, so Nikki was happy to walk us through the highlights. The most popular item is the “Rollin’ & Blazin’ Tour” graphic T-shirt — a design that combines the Thai flag with cannabis culture imagery, visually capturing the experience of enjoying cannabis in Bangkok. It functions convincingly as a wearable souvenir.

The merchandise corner near the entrance feels more like a select shop than a dispensary. “Rollin’ & Blazin'” and “Rise N Grind” graphic tees, bucket hats, and caps span a wider range of colors and designs than expected. Rather than leaning heavily into cannabis imagery, the line balances everyday wearables with collector-piece designs — easy to browse whether shopping for yourself or for a gift.

The smoking accessories section feels closer to an art object display than a functional goods shelf. Silicon bongs covered in full-surface graffiti prints, glass pipes featuring the Cloud Nine and BKK logos — items that are as easy to display as they are to use. At 490 to 1,290 THB, the price range keeps them within reach as souvenirs.

One display that drew particular attention was a pair of Doraemon art toys — popular among cannabis enthusiasts with an interest in Japanese pop culture. The “Semi Doraemon Anatomical” exposes the character’s internal structure, while the “Get Lifted” version features psychedelic-style eyes. Cannabis culture and pop art sit side by side here in a way that feels completely natural. For Japanese visitors, seeing a familiar character reimagined in this context is genuinely unexpected.

Also worth noting as accessible souvenirs are the Kiefez and Cloud Nine branded lighters. Priced from 40 THB, they carry strong original branding and a “you can only get this here” quality — compact enough to buy several without adding luggage weight.

Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a government agency responsible for regulating the safety and quality of products such as pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics. It reviews and approves products to ensure they meet established standards, helping consumers use them with confidence. For CBD products, approval is granted after confirming that their ingredients and manufacturing processes comply with regulatory requirements.

Cloud Nine also carries CBD oils and supplements, including products that can be taken outside Thailand. In countries where CBD is legal, these products can generally be carried or imported, provided they comply with local regulations — particularly regarding THC content limits.

At Cloud Nine, many CBD products are approved by the Thailand Food and Drug Administration (FDA), ensuring that they meet regulated standards for safety and quality. In addition, Certificates of Analysis (COA) are available in-store, allowing customers to verify product contents before purchase.

That said, regulations and allowable THC thresholds vary by country and may change over time, so it is strongly recommended to check the latest local laws before traveling with CBD products.

Bangkok has hundreds of cannabis clinics, but Cloud Nine stands out for combining medical cannabis quality with a fully realized spatial concept.

The clinic brings together several elements:

  • GACP-certified flower from their own OG Farms in Chiang Mai
  • COA transparency displayed on the shop floor
  • On-site TTM doctor for same-visit prescriptions
  • A lounge space and immersive “cloud” interior design
  • Original apparel, art toys, and souvenir-quality merchandise

For travelers exploring the Nana and Asok area, Cloud Nine offers more than cannabis products. It is a place where visitors can experience how a brand can be built around an idea — and what it looks like when that idea is executed without compromise.
