One of the staff members at Cloud Nine, Nikki, has extensive experience assisting Japanese-speaking customers and holds specialist knowledge in medical cannabis. For first-time visitors, Nikki takes the time to ask about the setting, the experience being sought, and the desired effects — before recommending a strain from their own cultivation lineup.

ThaiCannaMed Prescriptions and the OG Network Medical Card

PT33 refers to the medical prescription required for the use of medical cannabis in Thailand. It is issued by a Thai Traditional Medicine (TTM) doctor or a licensed physician and serves as proof for the legal purchase and possession of cannabis products. Once the prescription is issued, a QR code medical card is provided, which can be presented at the time of purchase or during police checks as proof of compliance.

When purchasing cannabis in Thailand, a medical prescription known as PT33 is required.

Across OG Canna / OG Distribution affiliated locations, this prescription process is standardized through the ThaiCannaMed system, allowing customers to obtain it either in-store or via telemedicine. This ensures a smooth and consistent experience regardless of which location you visit.

At participating locations including Cloud Nine, a QR code medical card is issued through ThaiCannaMed and used as proof of prescription at the time of purchase. In most cases, the process can be completed by simply presenting your passport and filling out a short health questionnaire. Once approved, the QR code medical card is issued.

This card can be used across the entire OG network, meaning there is no need to repeat the process at different stores. In the event of a police check, presenting the QR medical card and prescription confirms that your purchase is compliant with local regulations.

Cloud Nine is located on Sukhumvit Road in the Nana area, one of Bangkok’s most internationally recognized entertainment districts.

Hotels, restaurants, bars, and nightlife venues are concentrated in this area, attracting travelers, tourists, and local residents throughout the day and night.

Because of this location, the clinic naturally draws a mix of first-time visitors, cannabis enthusiasts, and tourists, creating an environment that reflects the global nature of cannabis culture.

Despite being located in the middle of one of Bangkok’s busiest entertainment districts, stepping through the door feels like entering a different atmosphere entirely. Smoking inside Cloud Nine is not permitted, but this is one of the few dispensaries in Bangkok that functions as a destination in its own right — not just a place to buy and leave.

During the visit, staff member Nikki walked us through the product lineup. When asked for a recommendation for regular cannabis users, the answer was immediate: Kiefez infused pre-rolls.

The 1g Dragon Fruit Punch / Uplift pre-roll combines golden kief with a slow-burn hemp blunt wrap. The packaging — featuring bold dragon illustration artwork — works equally well as a souvenir. Cloud Nine also carries a full range of original apparel and merchandise. Well-designed cannabis goods are rarer than expected in Bangkok, so Nikki was happy to walk us through the highlights. The most popular item is the “Rollin’ & Blazin’ Tour” graphic T-shirt — a design that combines the Thai flag with cannabis culture imagery, visually capturing the experience of enjoying cannabis in Bangkok. It functions convincingly as a wearable souvenir.

The merchandise corner near the entrance feels more like a select shop than a dispensary. “Rollin’ & Blazin'” and “Rise N Grind” graphic tees, bucket hats, and caps span a wider range of colors and designs than expected. Rather than leaning heavily into cannabis imagery, the line balances everyday wearables with collector-piece designs — easy to browse whether shopping for yourself or for a gift.

The smoking accessories section feels closer to an art object display than a functional goods shelf. Silicon bongs covered in full-surface graffiti prints, glass pipes featuring the Cloud Nine and BKK logos — items that are as easy to display as they are to use. At 490 to 1,290 THB, the price range keeps them within reach as souvenirs.

One display that drew particular attention was a pair of Doraemon art toys — popular among cannabis enthusiasts with an interest in Japanese pop culture. The “Semi Doraemon Anatomical” exposes the character’s internal structure, while the “Get Lifted” version features psychedelic-style eyes. Cannabis culture and pop art sit side by side here in a way that feels completely natural. For Japanese visitors, seeing a familiar character reimagined in this context is genuinely unexpected.

Also worth noting as accessible souvenirs are the Kiefez and Cloud Nine branded lighters. Priced from 40 THB, they carry strong original branding and a “you can only get this here” quality — compact enough to buy several without adding luggage weight.

Thailand’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a government agency responsible for regulating the safety and quality of products such as pharmaceuticals, food, and cosmetics.
